A DECISION on Humber Bridge tolls was not made before Transport Secretary resigned from the Cabinet.

The Department for Transport has not commented on the tolls issue since the resignation, but a delay is likely.

Federation of Small Business North Lincolnshire chairman Coun Neil Poole said: "As this government disintegrates and political careers come to an end the real casualties are the public who are waiting for life changing decisions.

"This delay to the decision making process will be at a cost to our local and regional economies."

The Humber Bridge Board is waiting to find out if it can increase the tolls.

The board wants to boost the charge for a car from £2.70 to £2.90 each way and for the heaviest lorries from £18.30 to £19.90 each way.
